installation error 5308

Installation error in 5308

I'm trying to install Vista 5308 onto my HP Compaq nc6000, but each time I attempt the install, I get an error screen immeadiatly after the "Windows is loading files" screen. The error is "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible." The error code given is 0xc00000e9.
I tried attempting the install from within Windows XP SP2, but got a different error. Another forum suggested wiping the hard disk, so I've deleted all the partitions from my disk, but the same error still occurs.
I've verified that the burn boots correctly on a friend's system.

Where would I find the setup log? My hard disk doesn't have any partitions on it; and the installer dies before I've created new ones.

Install XP, create a dedicated partition then install Vista, I don't Vista currently supports installing on RAW disk. You could use the shift + F10 command when you boot off the Vista disk and create a dedicated partition during the setup process. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

Got my install working. It turned out to be a bad burn - I made a new DVD and it installed successfully.
Thanks for the suggestions, anyways.

I need to take that into account everytime one of these issues pop up. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta
